It’s a story as old as time itself: powerful, wealthy man meets woman, man romances woman — despite being married to another woman.
Four star Gen. David Patraeus, 60, tendered his resignation as head of the CIA the day after President Barack Obama won re-election. The general’s high flying career was grounded by accusations that he cheated on his wife of 38 years, Holly, with his biographer, Paula Broadwell (pictured right).
According to the NY Post, one of Patraeus’s other mistresses blew the whistle on his cheating ways.
Jill Kelley, 37, (pictured left) reported receiving “jealous” emails from an anonymous source — who later turned out to be Broadwell, 40. The emails ordered the married Kelley to “back off,” and “stay away from my guy.” The anonymous emails also warned, “I know what you did,” sources told The Post.
The FBI — thinking someone was after Patraeus — traced the emails to Broadwell, and discovered more emails of a romantic nature between Broadwell and Patreaus.
Broadwell, who is the author of Patraeus’s book, All In: The Education of General David Petraeus, supposedly began dating him after he took over as chief of the CIA.
Patreaus and his wife Holly (pictured right) have two grown children.
So now that the lid has been blown off of this spectacularly messy affair, the question becomes: How much did President Obama know and when did he know it? And did the biased left wing media delay reporting on Patraeus’ cheating ways to help Obama win the election?
